Description:
Wavellite is a hydrated aluminum phosphate mineral that commonly forms in radial crystal aggregates. These spherical aggregates are produced by crystals radiating outward from a central point. Wavellite is most commonly found in phosphate-bearing rocks and clay deposits, with Arkansas being one of the best known sources for well-formed specimens.
Specimen Details:
This specimen displays multiple green radial wavellite aggregates on dark matrix. The formations occur as rounded crystal clusters across the exposed face of the specimen.
